Disney+ has revealed the release date for the upcoming adventure series Renegade Nell starring Louisa Harland. The new eight-part series from Happy Valley creator Sally Wainwright, will officially debut on the platform next month. All episodes of the series will premiere at once on March 29, 2024.

The show centers around a young woman accused of murder and is set in the 18th century. It chronicles Nell’s escapades as she eludes capture and forms a connection with a magical spirit companion.

Renegade Nell Story

“Renegade Nell” features Harland in the lead role of a highwaywoman falsely accused of murder, leading to an adventurous journey during the 18th century. As Nell evades capture, her story gains notoriety across villages.

The series takes a fantastical twist when Nell encounters Billy Blind, a magical spirit portrayed by Nick Mohammed, who imparts direction and a greater purpose to the young protagonist.

“Renegade Nell,” the upcoming Disney+ original series featuring Louise Harland, is scheduled to premiere in the spring. The show, consisting of eight episodes, will exclusively debut on Disney+ on March 29.

BAFTA Award-winning screenwriter Sally Wainwright, known for “Happy Valley,” is the creator and writer of the series, with Ben Taylor, the lead director of “Sex Education,” also involved in the project.
