One of the most terrifying monsters from the Fallout video game series did not appear in the series. Graham Wagner explained why they didn’t introduce the Deathclaws in the first season.
The Fallout series was based on one of the most popular game series in history. The action takes place 200 years after a nuclear apocalypse. A quiet resident of a cozy radioactive shelter is forced to return to the surface. There she encounters the Wasteland, which surprises her.
The first season used themes known from games such as Vaults, the Brotherhood of Steel, or the history of the Vault-Tec corporation. In turn, the Wasteland was fraught with dangers such as raiders.
However, one of the most iconic mutants, the iconic Deathclaw, did not appear. These are some of the most dangerous creatures of the desert. They are fast, aggressive and cause a lot of problems for players.
Will Deathclaws appear in Season 2?
Graham Wagner, co-creator of the Fallout series, explained in an interview with The Wrap that the lack of creatures in the first season was because they didn’t want to rush introducing him into the story.
We wanted to use Deathclaws, but we didn’t want to just add them in the first season. This is a monumental element of the game.
We wanted to save something for season two to do it right and not just add it to a larger world. That’s why we’re really excited for Season 2, where we’ll finally take a look at one of gaming’s most iconic elements.
Graham Wagner will likely keep his promise, as at the end of the first season, viewers could see a giant skull with horns and teeth, which most likely belongs to Deathclaw. This can be seen as an omen of his entry into history.
