Save humanity and make a ghost fall in love with you

The series might initially appear to follow the traditional fantasy genre tropes, where the protagonist embarks on a heroic journey to save the world and retire victorious. However, in this case, the savior of the world, Sido, isn’t tasked with defeating an evil dragon or a dark lord; instead, he must make a cute yet dangerous spirit fall in love with him.

Over four seasons, the high school student endeavors to cultivate a romantic relationship with his companion and long-time love, adding an entertaining twist to the series, given the surrounding challenges. In the upcoming fifth season of the anime “Date a Live,” set to be released in April 2024, the story will continue, focusing on the conflict between two worlds – the human and astral realms.

The overarching narrative bears similarities to Shakespeare’s tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, where a spirit falls in love with a human. However, Shido and Kotori must still confront the primary spirit and her followers who are holding back the encroaching darkness threatening Japan.

The sequel is promised to be expansive, and alongside the announcement, the creators have released a one-minute trailer and a poster featuring the characters.
