Netflix has officially announced the renewal of the crime drama “Berlin” for a second season. The Money Heist prequel will see the return of the entire cast for one last outing. Despite the exciting news, production is not set to start until the year 2025.
The confirmation was accompanied by a brief promotional video, a fresh photo of the cast and assurances that Berlin’s character’s colorful past would be explored. (See promo trailer below in the article)
What is the series Berlin about?
Serving as a prequel to Money Heist, Berlin unfolds before the events of the first and second seasons of its parent show, also functioning as a spin-off.
The character Berlin, known for his vibrant history, offers ample storytelling possibilities, making it a logical choice for the production team to delve into. With Berlin’s storyline reaching a definite conclusion in Money Heist, the second season provides a perfect opportunity to provide fans with more content featuring the beloved character.
IMDb rates the series an impressive 7.5 out of 10, but some very negative user reviews call the series boring and mediocre.
Berlin Season 2 Confirmed
The renewal was officially confirmed by Netflix on February 19, 2024, accompanied by the release of an official teaser for the upcoming season, featuring the main character Pedro Alonso entering an elevator with the number 2.
The release date for Berlin season 2 is still unknown, but given that we saw the announcement in early 2024, we expect Berlin season 2 to be released in early 2025.
Berlin Season 2 Cast
The part of Berlin is played by actor Pedro Alonso who has had a consistent career in film and TV. Netflix also announced that most of the cast are already signed on for the second season.
